Happy Birthday, Benjamin!!!

I can't believe you turned 8 yesterday! You have now reached the age of
being embarrassed by your parents when you
don the birthday sombrero and get sung too!
We love you, buddy!

another one...

...and alot more to go...
Luke lost his second tooth tonight and there is the
all too familiar 2 tooth gap on the bottom that
can fit many things which he has demonstrated!needless to say, he was thrilled!
I PROMISE I won't post a picture of every missing tooth!
Maybe just the first dozen;)

Our first scrimage

So, this past weekend was our first
scrimage against 4 other teams.
We drove down to verdigris and got busy!
Luke had a blast! He never cried 1 time!
Which at this age, I guess is pretty good!
These boys are not used to getting pummeled to the ground!
They did a great job and we are all looking forward
to our first game this next weekend!
But, I have to say, taking pictures in football
is alot harder than I thought!
You are constantly trying to figure out which one is your kid!
And then by the time you find which
way he went, the play is over!
So, here's a few snapshots that I did get!
Luke Freeman, #66, played tackle and linebacker.
And let the fun begin...gettin ready...
playing linebacker,
who should I tackle?
GOTCHA!!!
and now let me move on to you!
So close!
Seriously, I have to block you?
here we go... thud!
who's gonna go down?
with a little help,
he did!
coolin down...proud daddy!
Huddle up!
#66
So, after our first scrimage, guess who
decided that he wanted to play?
yep, Benjamin!
so, it was a mad dash to midwest sports
again to get all the gear!
And let me tell ya,
he's pretty good!
playing that year of flag football paid off!
But, I have to say, having both boys
on the same team is so cool!
They are the only set of brothers on the team
and it is really fun to watch them!
Benjamin's been playing QB & RB with a few other boys ,
and his little brother is going to make the way!
Life is good at the Freeman house!
BUSY, but good!

Are you ready...

for some football? aren't they cute?
Luke is in the blue jersey next to the
REALLY TALL 2nd grader!

He couldn't wait to do this!
But if you hit it high,
what's gonna happen?
You're gonna land like this!let's try this again...
gotcha!
trying to run past this cute litle guy...
made it...barely!
learning that he can't grab
the facemask of another player!
according to luke..
"I just wanted to take 'em down"
all I have to say is...
Lord, help us!

Puerta Vallerta...

So, I tagged along on a "work" trip with Ben a couple weeks ago
for 7 days and it was AMAZING!!!
The amazing part was that we were ALONE!
Not, that I don't love my chitlins,
but it was so nice to have a break.
at the beach. with Ben. with no whining.
uninterrupted conversations. time to sleep in.
peaceful dinners. no children to watch at the pool
and .....blissful silence!
We did miss the kids, but were determined
to make the most out of this!
As for the lack of amazing pictures,
we didn't do much besides take in some sun and eat!
But we did venture out a few times for a dinner cruise,
the flea market, downtown and the zipline..
so here's a few pics of our wonderful vacation
in which we did almost absolutely nothing!
And loved every minute of it!

Our resort...well, the back of it anyway

view from our room..
see those chairs in the pool,
yep, that's where I was the majority of the time
lovely
the ocean in the morning when it looked beautiful,
then as the day went on it turned brown from the river...
this is the first time we went to the beach
and stayed at the pool the whole time!
Off to eat dinner...
enjoyed a show at the resort tributing MJ...
he was good!
off to the flea market...
eating again;)

this guy was in a tree by our table...
a pretty flower....
off to eat again, this time on a dinner cruise
cruising by downtown puerta vallerta...
this guy kept coming around the boat wantin some snacks!
passed Jack Sparrow on the way to dinner,
he says hello...
getting ready to dock on a remote island in Las Calientes
for a mayan dance/fire show and dinner...
(this was the best food the entire trip!)
They were all spiffed up & waitin for us...
those huts in the trees are where we ate..playin music for us when we got off the boat...
they wouldn't let us take pictures of the show,
so here's me SO FULL after dinner,
waiting for the boat to take us back...
yes, I know I have a yellow sticker on me...
they put that on everyone to remind us what boat we were on..
and no, that is not toilet paper hanging down from me,
that is my sweater...come on guys!
Our first time down the zipline
took us over to another part of the jungle
where we started climbing up
the mountain to zipline down!
There were 10 lines in all, so much fun!
of course, Ben is ready to fly down this zipline!
The first line was a little frightening, I must say..
only because I was having flashes
of my 3 children before my eyes,
and maybe I was just hoping that a python
or jaguar or any other jungle animal
was not going to jump out from any trees!
But, then I got over my fears real quick and
enjoyed the ride because the scenery was beautiful!
I even volunteered to go first the next time!
Sometimes, they want you to apply the brakes at the end,
because you are flyin
so they start waving their arms,
this is me trying to apply the brakes at the last minute,
because I wasn't paying attention..
I was enjoying the scenery!
one of the lines...
superBen...to the rescue...
at the top of one of the lines...
at the top of the highest line..1100 feet in the air...
right under the clouds, you can barely see a line
that is the ocean..
it.was.a.long.way.down
at the top...
my legs were burning!
last one down is a rotten egg!
after our jungle ride, we had lunch
at the bottom of the mountain...
this guy figured out we tipped and kept coming back!
we almost didn't have enough money for lunch!
typical tourist suckers!
During lunch, these guys decided to put on a show
(and asked for tips later, of course)
they were crazy cliff divers!
they were probably like 12-14 years old!
crazy, I tell ya!
and our cameras weren't eggin them on at all!
But who wouldn't take a picture of that!
At least he made it! BARELY!!!
Where are these kids parents?!!
Because I tell ya, I was not a nurse on this vacation!
So, this guy is "the pro" according to the locals,
they kept talking about what he was going to do "later"
I thought the flip/dive was pretty impressive myself!
He made it too, thank goodness!
I mean, who does this stuff?
then, "later" came and too much of our dismay and
also shrieks from us typical tourists
the "pro" climbs up this same rock and BLINDFOLDS
himself! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!?!!!
I AM NOT A NURSE ON THIS VACATION!!!
He made it!
CRAZY, CRAZY mexican man!
Apparently he did this in the bevery hills chihuaha movie,
and to the locals he's a big stud in this town!
But in my book, he is absolutely CrAzY!!
off to eat yet again...
downtown puerta vallerta...
the first church in puerta vallerta...
it's still in use!
Well, that's it in a nutshell!
We had a great time!
And I can't wait to tag along on another "work" trip!
