A Trip to the zoo...

A couple weekends ago, it was 75 degrees outside in JANUARY and we thought we would take advantage of the GORGEOUS weather and enjoy a trip to the zoo with some great friends!
Yeah. Ella wasn't too thrilled about sitting on this statue! But every family has this picture right? It is a zoo picture staple! We have one of just the boys, so we wanted to include Ella Bella in this one. Yep. She wanted down as soon as we put her up there, but Luke had the death grip on her so she wouldn't fall over , which just made her flat out mad, but we were able to get a few pictures!
Poor turtles, all covered up in ice!
This is a must stop for Luke and probably every other
kid at the zoo, he could stand there for hours if we let him!
" Could you all hurry up, please? I need to be moving at all times!!!" Sincerely, Princess Ella
Only in Oklahoma can you have 75 degree weather, a frozen turtle creek and patches of ice everywhere! In looking at this picture you would think, geez it looks freezing outside and Alissa's kids are all in t-shirts and all the other kids are in winter clothes! I PROMISE it was AT LEAST 75 degrees outside and beautiful! And I did bring a hoodie and blanket for Ella if she needed it (the boys were on thier own:), so no emails please about this!!!

The chimps stayed in this little doorway for a LONG time! We waited and waited...
and waited and waited... we decided to come back!~
Eventually we found some chimps eager to play around...

Chimp #1
chimp #2
trying to find some lizards...

Luke, Dylan, McKinlee and Benjamin
in the cave...nope, there is nothing on Benjamin's head, just light from somewhere!
looks like a pigeon to me!
Amuzed by the elephants...

"Luke, does your mom always take this many pictures?"
These met us in the bird sanctuary, so gross!
This guy was huge and got stuck in the mud several times...
McKinlee's favorite...
Sleepy lion...
His wife... getting a tan

This guy just freaked me out, he just stared and stared..he kept licking his lips, opening up his mouth, sizing us all up, pacing back and forth...no, not really, letting my imagination go alittle there, but he was staring ALOT and pretty intently ! Enough to make us keep moving! And I promise, I DID NOT look over my shoulder occasionally to see if he had escaped like the ones on the news and was leaping over fences to come show us his pretty teeth!

And of course in the end...the carassell, carousel
(how in the world do you spell this?)
We had to run though, to make the last ride before the zoo closed, can you imagine the meltdown for all of the kids who had THAT BRIBE from parents and didn't make it!!! Gosh good thing we weren't THOSE parents who would do something like bribing their child for being good in the zoo! cough. cough...

Good times though!!!

Every woman...

should go and see this movie! Ben and I went and saw this movie this weekend and it was great! It really opens your eyes about the underground world of human trafficking and how easy it is for these men to take these women and the lengths they go to to conceal it all. And the worst part, in the world right now, this is a HUGE problem! The news needs to start making this more of an issue. They say that you have 96 hours to find them or they are pretty much lost forever. After seeing this movie, I believe it! But, seriously, every girl should see this movie, no matter how old you are! You need to be aware of what's out there and how it can all start
with a little harmless conversation....
There is a rumor out there that this is what happened to
Natalie Holloway in Aruba...
it makes me wonder if she is still alive?
