we took the boys to go see this...
The boys had NO IDEA that we were taking them to see this show and they had been asking about it, especially my prehistoric animal loving son, Luke. Even sitting in our seats before the show, with all these big teeth on stage, Luke thought we were going to see "Madagascar 2" and Benjamin thought we were going to see the circus!!! Finally, when the announcer said the "Walk with Dinosaurs" show would start in 5 minutes, our secret was out and they were sooo excited!
Luke was kind of bummed for a minute in the beginning when they opened up the show with a little movie, " AGH! It's a movie, not dinosaurs?" I pointed out to him these cute little baby dinosaurs on a rock in the middle of the stage, AND THEN, the curtains opened and out comes this real life fun- looking dinosaur and Luke's face was PRICELESS!!!! He was so excited!!! "They're real, momma!" Excited until, the dinosaur goes over and EATS the cute little baby dinosaur and has it dangling in it's mouth!!! The dinosaur then looks our way and then I hear loudly, " MOM, IT'S GOING TO EAT US!!!" from my wide-eyed little Luke! I quickly reassured him that they were in fact not going to eat us...Yep, within 5 minutes of the beginning of the show their is gasping, kids crying and kids that were once in their paid for seat are now in their parents lap!!! Thankfully, my boys just sat there and watched in awe!
The show goes through the different prehistoric eras and the different dinosaurs that go with that era and tells the life of the dinosaur. Everything was just awesome, from the pop-up vegetation, the lights, to the huge dinosaur poop! I couldn't get over how REAL the dinosaurs looked and how big they were compared to the guy, excuse me "paleontologist", that was on stage talking about them. Whoever made these things is amazing! Even their wrinkled skin looked so real! Their eyes blinked and the way they moved was so impressive! All of that combined, made you quickly forget that these things were indeed animated and fake and that the big dino's were on some sort of sliding thing and that the velocoraptor had 4 legs instead of 2! And the way they sounded and looked at you, GEEZ!!!!! That was probably 1/2 the reason that most of the kids were on their parents laps!!!
We started off before the show in our balcony seats, but because there wasn't alot of people there, we ran to the lower seats right before the show started, and if you can do that,
DO IT!!! To see the dinosaurs up close makes it even more fun and life-like! And I highly recommend the snow cones...yummy!
This show was by far the coolest kids show that we have ever been too! But, beware, it is not just the sweet, friendly "land before time" dinosaurs that are there....following the impending doom music, the predators from "Jurassic park" show up for dinner!
and...
guess who followed us home?
